Our History


Founder, past president and owners of the Oakville Conference and Banquet Centre Lynn Mercanti along with her late husband  Morris Mercanti, welcome everyone to their venue.


Created from a vision, built on determination and quality, Oakville Conference Center has grown from a humble bakery and delicatessen that began in 1978 as Carmen’s, to a five star multi-talented catering corporation, diversified to accommodate a wide range of corporate and social needs.


This 34,000 square foot state of the art facility is conveniently located at the intersections of Bronte road and the QEW between Niagara and Greater Toronto. This is an ideal locations for all occasions, accommodating from 25 to 1000 guests with a total of 7 banquet and conference rooms. It is equipped with cutting edge audiovisual services, soundproofing, V.I.P. Executive suites, 20 foot ceilings, outdoor landscaped gardens and a beautiful gazebo. Adjacent to the Oakville Conference and Banquet Centre is the Holiday Inn Select Hotel and Suites, perfect for any out-of-town guests, with a direct walkway to the facilities.


Since the beginning, the Oakville Conference Centre has received numerous awards for innovative professional event production in the catering and hospitality industry. The Mercanti’s work as a team with committed, experienced professionals who have been cross trained to provide the best in service, food and decor to ensure a successful and memorable occasion.


The team takes great pride in the special events that we have had the pleasure of hosting. Some of our more notable events were for such persons as: Prime Minister Jean Chretien, President Bill Clinton; as well as other famous groups such as the Rolling Stones and the Toronto Blue Jays. The business has expanded over the years and not only operates the Oakville Conference Center but also The Harbour Banquet Center, Paletta Mansion, Yolanda’s Spuntino Casa, Holcim Waterfront Estate and Catering by Edge.
